Relative mood

The relative (oblique) mood (atstāstījuma izteiksme) reports what someone else has said, without vouching for it — English ‘is said to / reportedly’.

The present form ends in -ot.

Viņš runājot ātri.
He reportedly speaks fast.
Viņi esot mājās.
They are said to be at home.
Rīt līšot lietus.
It is said it will rain tomorrow.
