Numbers 1 through 9 (except 3) have two forms — masculine and feminine.
| Number | Masculine | Feminine |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | vien/s | vien/a |
| 2 | div/i | div/as |
| 3 | trīs | trīs |
| 4 | četr/i | četr/as |
| 5 | piec/i | piec/as |
| 6 | seš/i | seš/as |
| 7 | septiņ/i | septiņ/as |
| 8 | astoņ/i | astoņ/as |
| 9 | deviņ/i | deviņ/as |
When these numerals are used without a noun, then masculine form is used. This is happening, for example, when simply counting, or giving address or a phone number.
